How To Make The Most of Everyday

When you wake up in the morning you have the choice to decide how you go about your day. Whether you choose to sleep until noon, wake up and exercise, or maybe stay inside and read a book for the day. The most important thing is that you get to decide. This article is about how you can fully enjoy life’s luxuries and the joys of life.

  1. Don’t Put Things Off

We always say “I can do that tomorrow” or “I don’t need to do that today, I’ll start another time”. Having a list of “to do’s” means you are constantly thinking about what you have to do when you should be enjoying your day. It’s natural for our bodies to stress when we have multiple this to do at once, this can lead to increased and anxiety and loss of sleep. To do your best to decrease stress and anxiety try to knock things off your to do list as they appear.

  1. Rise Early

Mornings are my favourite part of the day, the birds are chirping, the sun is rising, and it is very peaceful. Rising early allows you to make the most of your entire day, and you usually are more productive and feel accomplished. This way you can feel satisfied with how your day is starting.

  1. Stay Active

Exercising releases endorphins which are scientifically proven to boost your mood. Recent studies have shown that people who exercise regularly report to be happier, calmer, and better equipped to handle whatever the day throws at them. By exercising for 20 minutes each day you will begin to feel the benefits immediately.

  1. Be Present

Put away all distractions. Engage with others. Connect with those that you care about. Be a good listener. This will grow your relationships and will leave you in a better mood, with a clearer mind.

  1. Give to Others in Need

The best life that you can live is one that is lived humbly and unselfishly. Doing kind acts for others, especially those who truly need it, will leave you with the satisfaction of knowing you did something great, and will also increase your empathy towards others. This allows you to be more appreciative and grateful for all that you have in your life.

  1. Be Mindful

Stress and anxiety can build up very easily and can be overwhelming. Try giving yourself 10 minutes a day to mediate, or just to be quiet and think. Meditation has many benefits that include increasing attention spans, decreasing blood pressure, and improving your sleep. Just think 10 minutes a day and you can get all of these added benefits to enhance your quality of life that much more.

  1. Nourish your body

The food we put into our bodies become the fuel in which we get our energy from. Putting processed and high carb foods into our bodies leave us lacking the energy we need for the day. And will cause you to be hungry shortly after eating. If you choose fresh foods and healthy fats you will stay satisfied for longer and your body will be nourished. Some foods that will keep you full for longer include eggs, avocados, Greek yogurt, fish and almonds. You can find some great healthy recipes here. Another good tip is to not eat after 8pm, this allows your body to digest the food before you go to sleep.

  1. Do One Thing that you Love

We all have things that we need to do in the day but we also all have hopes, dreams and hobbies that we enjoy. Making time to do something everyday that you truly love will bring out who you are. It’s important to put energy into activities, and people who make you feel like the best you possible.
