Volunteers needed for Big Brothers & Big Sisters!

Are you 55 or older and looking to make a meaningful difference?

The Between Generations program at Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area could be the perfect opportunity for you.

1:1 In-School Mentoring

As a volunteer in this school-based mentoring program, you’ll be matched with a child in Grades 1 to 8. You’ll meet with them at their school for one hour each week during the school year. Together, you’ll engage in activities based on your shared interests – whether it’s doing a craft, playing a game, or simply spending time together.

Time commitment: 1 hour per week, from September to June

1:1 Community-Based Mentoring

This mentoring option matches you with a young person between the ages of 7 and 17. You’ll decide together how to spend your time – perhaps going for a hike, doing a craft, or enjoying a conversation over a snack. Meetings take place both in the community and in your home.

Time commitment: 2 visits per month, each lasting 2–4 hours, for a minimum of 12 months

Programs such as Between Generations promote inclusion and a sense of belonging by cultivating meaningful connections across generations and fostering mutual understanding.

A small amount of your time can make a BIG difference.
