October 1, 2015 has been declared National Seniors Day!
The Government of Canada is proud to pay tribute to the seniors who have helped build our country and continue to make valuable contributions to Canadian communities, workplaces and society.
National Seniors Day is an occasion for all Canadians to appreciate and celebrate the seniors in their lives.
Over 55 London is an active participant in the Age Friendly London Network, so it should come as no surprise that on Friday March 27th, we were proud to exhibit our table at the “Building An Age Friendly London” conference. This event, hosted by the Council for London Seniors and the City of London, saw over 300 people come through the doors, sharing our stories about improving the lives of London seniors. This was a great opportunity for Over 55 to reach out to people 55 and over, letting us network with other service providers in London and area, allowing us to learn about other organization who support older adults in London. This city has so many fabulous supports for the older people who live here, and we’re so happy we can be a part of it.
